Po chyba dwóch latach zastoju i kompletnej ciszy wokół programu, kilka dni temu na forum programu ukazał się wielce obiecujący wpis zatytułowany "Still alive!"

Sorry about the website downtime, the person who''s been so graciously providing free webhosting for us for the past few years had to change our hosts, and I was unable to switch our DNS configuration over to the new config by the time he needed to decommission the old server. Entirely my fault. Finally did that last night, we should be golden now.

The past couple years have been quite hectic for me as far as "real life" goes. I am working to get the paperwork all straightened out so that PeerBlock, LLC will remain an active entity, so that we will be legally allowed to purchase the driver-signing certificate we need to continue development. Hopefully this will be completed over the course of the next couple of weeks, at which point we will be able to start generating new builds again.

Again, my apologies to all for having gone silent for a long while now. Rest assured we aren''t done yet, there''s still a lot more I''d like to see happen with PeerBlock before I at least will be truly happy with it.

Thanks for sticking with us in the interim,

--- Mark ---

Pod koniec roku 2013 wreszcie coś ruszyło i poza wersjami beta, pojawiła się długo oczekiwana wersja stabilna z wieloma zmianami w stosunku do ostatniego wydania
Cytat: Here it is, PeerBlock 1.2, released January 14, 2014!
This is a Stable Release of PeerBlock. It includes many bugfixes and a couple new features over our last PeerBlock 1.1 Stable Release, and should work great on XP, Vista, 7, and 8+ (plus server variants), both 32- and 64-bit versions.New Stable 1.2.x bugfix releases will come out as/if we need them, but new feature development releases will be PeerBlock 1.3 Beta Releases.

What''s New?
Here are the most important changes present in this new Stable Release, as compared to our previous Stable Release PeerBlock 1.1 (r518).
- Port Allow List- The new "Port Settings" tab allows you to unblock ports (incoming and/or outgoing). This means that PeerBlock will not filter any connections from/to those ports. This can for example be used if you''re running PeerBlock on a public FTP server, or if you want to ensure that outgoing SMTP mail communications are never blocked. Many thanks to night_stalker_z for his hard work on this feature!
- First-run Update Message- When you first run PeerBlock after upgrading, you will see a notice explaining why lists are only updating once per week.Hopefully this will help to alleviate people''s confusion about this.
- Better Weekly List-Updating- We''ve made some improvements that should help ensure that free users continue to get their free weekly list-updates.
- I-Blocklist Subscription Settings- To make it easier for you to configure PeerBlock to use an I-Blocklist Subscription, new I-Blocklist Username/PIN fields have been added to the bottom of the "Settings 1" tab.
- Separate Settings Tabs- Instead of having one Settings tab with those silly "Next" and "Prev" buttons on it, we''ve broken that out into two separate "Settings 1" and "Settings 2" tabs.
- Improved List-Update Error Handling- We''ve worked with I-Blocklist, who hosts the vast majority of the lists people use, to create improved error messaging for the various problems that may occur when updating lists. If something occurs during update-checking, the error message displayed should be much more meaningful.
- Improved List-update Error Window- Should you hit any errors while updating your lists - 429 or otherwise - we will now pop up a more informative error window, along with a button you can click to jump straight to our site to check for more information.
- Updated Error Windows- If you encounter a catastrophic error, the message that appears will now tell you to go visit peerblock.com/errors.This will redirect you to a forum-post on which the most common error-messages are displayed, to help you figure out what has gone wrong, and what can be done to fix it.
- (Re)Load Previously Downloaded Lists- Previously, there was a problem where if you disabled and then re-enabled a list in the List Manager, that list wouldn''t be reloaded until it successfully downloaded an update. Now, if it can''t update that list it will still load the last version you did successfully download.
- Removal of Windows 2000 Support- Windows 2000 is quite old by now, we hope that nobody''s still running it; if you are, you can continue using the previous PeerBlock version. This release does support all Windows variants from Windows XP through to Windows 8.1, including server variants.(But not Windows RT.)

Poza tym w kanale beta pojawiły się dwie wersje:
27 listopada 2013 wersja 1.1+ (r.677)- lista zmian do poprzedniej bety z czerwca 2010

6 stycznia 2014 wersja 1.1+ (r.691)
Cytat: Beta Releases contain newer fixes and features than our Stable Releases, and by definition not necessarily as stable. While we have tested them out internally, until they''ve been included in Beta Releases for awhile we won''t really consider them to have received enough "airtime" to be considered ready for inclusion in a new Stable Release. They are also released much more frequently than Stable Releases, generally once every few weeks (instead of once every few months) - if the frequency of update notices annoys you, install a Stable Release instead!

What''s New
Here are the major changes since the most recent Beta Release, r677:
- Better Weekly List-Updating - We''ve made some improvements that should help ensure that free users continue to get their free weekly list-updates.
