Pros:Does everything I need a firewall to do. No nagware or popups. Runs silently when just monitoring ports not programs. Rules list is clear and easily edited. System achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet leaked by GRC ShieldsUP!
Cons: For me nothing. Other reviewers in the past have said it''s a poor option, but from my testing and research it seems solid as a rock.
Summary:When used in conjunction with Microsoft Security Essentials ShieldsUP! also said:
-All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.)
-One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities
-This computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.
-There is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that a port (or even any computer) exists at this IP address!
A lot of the positive reviews on here for Ashampoo seem to consider it only as a good option for beginners or technophobes. My answer to that is, why make life difficult? If it works and it''s nice to use - use it!"
